Getting started

Do I need to create an account?
No. Open the App and start talking immediately — there is no sign-up, login, email, or password. A random anonymous identifier is generated on your device so we can keep your conversation history and subscription status. You can reset it any time by clearing the App data.
What do I need to begin?
An Android phone, a microphone (built-in is fine), and an internet connection. Pick a topic chip — My day / News / Plans — or just start speaking.
What English level is Velivox for?
Both learners and people maintaining their level. If you can form basic sentences, Velivox is a patient partner who’ll meet you where you are. If you already speak English well — used to live abroad, used to work in English, took it in school years ago — Velivox is your daily 10-minute keep-it-sharp routine.
I already speak English fluently. Will this be too easy?
No. The AI adapts to how you talk. Push it into work topics, debate, idioms, fast back-and-forth — it keeps up. Most advanced users come for the listening practice (natural-speed US/UK voices) and the habit, not for grammar drills.

Using the App

What’s in the top bar?
Logo on the left, your current AI partner in the middle, then three controls on the right: voice + accent (tap to pick male/female and 🇺🇸/🇬🇧), theme toggle (light/dark), and settings. The bottom nav has three buttons: Roles, History, Vocabulary.
What is hands-free mode?
A continuous mode where you just talk, like a phone call. Velivox detects when you’ve finished speaking, replies in a natural voice, and starts listening again — no buttons. Available with Velivox Pro.
Does the app interrupt me if I pause?
No. Velivox uses an intelligent continuous-dialogue system: pauses shorter than about 3 seconds carry meaning in natural speech, so the app deliberately holds that window and won’t cut you off mid-sentence. You can stop to think, take a breath, or search for the right word — the conversation stays natural and unhurried, just like talking to a patient person. In noisy places or with background voices this window can feel a little longer, which is normal.
How does saving vocabulary work?
Tap any word in an AI reply to instantly see it translated into your language, along with the sentence it appeared in. It’s saved automatically so you can review it later in the Vocabulary tab. Tap the same word again — the same card appears (we cache so the translation doesn’t shift).
What are Roles?
Roles let you turn the AI into any character you want — a shop assistant in Paris, a job interviewer, a landlord, a tour guide, even a fictional movie character. Just open the Roles tab, tap +, and describe who you want to talk to. The AI picks a region-appropriate name and a matching voice automatically.
Can I change voice and accent?
Yes — tap the voice/accent chip in the top bar. You can choose female or male, and US or UK English. Changes apply instantly to the next reply.
Which interface languages are supported?
14, including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Ukrainian, Arabic, Hindi, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Turkish. You always practise English — only the interface is localised.
What’s the “Default conversation”?
That’s your main, no-role chat — the one open when you first install. Your other chats (under specific Roles) live alongside it in the History tab.

Profile & gender

Why does the App ask for my gender?
So the AI can use natural pronouns when referring to you (“she said”, “he asked”) and adapt small parts of the conversation. The question is optional — you can pick Female, Male, Other, or “Prefer not to say”. You can skip it entirely.
Why does the App ask for my country and age?
Two reasons. (1) The Role system uses your country to pick a region-appropriate name and accent. (2) Aggregate, anonymous statistics: we want to know “how many learners in Brazil, age 25-34”, so we can build better content for our biggest groups. Your exact age is never sent — it’s bucketed into a range (e.g. 25-34) on the device before saving. Your first name is never sent at all.

Privacy & data

Is my voice recorded or stored?
No. Your speech is sent to our speech-to-text provider, transcribed into text so the AI can reply, then discarded. We do not keep voice recordings. See the Privacy Policy for the full list of what we do and don’t store.
What data does Velivox collect?
A small, anonymous set: country (as a 2-letter ISO code), age range (e.g. 25-34, never the exact age), gender (if you chose to share it), native language, self-assessed English level, app version, and platform. We do not collect your name, email, IP address, exact location, or any advertising identifier. There is no Google Analytics, no Firebase, no Mixpanel — all analytics is processed on our own servers. Can I delete my data?
Yes. Email support@velivox.app and we’ll erase your registration record and any associated conversation history. Because the anonymous identifier is random and isn’t shown in the App, please include your approximate install date, country, and interface language so we can locate it. Uninstalling the App removes everything on your device.

Pricing & bonuses

Is Velivox free?
Yes — real conversation every day at no cost, forever: 5 minutes/day for your first 3 days, then 3 minutes/day through day 7, and 2 minutes/day after that, with all 4 voices and the full vocabulary feature. Velivox Pro increases your daily practice time (15, 30, or 45 minutes a day, your choice) and adds hands-free continuous mode.
What does Velivox Pro cost?
Pro comes in three tiers — Casual (15 min/day), Standard (30 min/day), and Intensive (45 min/day) — each available as a Monthly or Yearly auto-renewing plan, with Yearly offering the best value. Current local-currency prices are shown in the App before you confirm purchase.
How are the daily minutes counted?
Your daily allowance measures conversation time — the spoken time of both sides of the dialogue: your speech and the AI’s replies. It’s counted in minutes of active conversation, much like minutes on a phone plan. The counter resets every day at midnight in your device’s time zone, so each day you start fresh with your full allowance.
How do subscriptions and cancellation work?
Velivox Pro is purchased through Google Play or the Apple App Store. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and can be managed or cancelled any time in your app-store account settings. Uninstalling does NOT cancel a subscription. See the Terms of Service section 3.
How do I request a refund?
Purchases are handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store, so refunds follow that store’s policy. Contact the store directly; we’ll help where we can.
